Since I first started writing my book, I knew that it was my number one goal to get this message to the readers who truly need it. JOYFUL. Thereâs a reason this word is in the title. When you look to Jesus to be your source of joy, rather than your circumstances, itâs crazy to see how He truly does provide the fulfillment that we are all looking for.
PEACEFUL. Itâs so stressful to believe the lie that our futures are all on us, and we need to figure it all out on our own. When you finally lift up your concerns to God, and surrender your plans to Him, youâre able to experience the peace that only He can bring.
HOPEFUL. Being in a waiting season can feel hopeless. The disappointment and deferred hope can feel unbearable at times. But our God is a God of hope. Youâll learn to receive the hope that God brings and how He has a future for you to look forward to.

i'm Ashley Hetherington
Itâs been close 5 years after I decided to go all in with Jesus and help people grow in their relationship with God, too. I turned to social media to help you get closer to God and become the best version of yourself in Him. I didnât just want it to be knowledge that felt heady and difficult to follow, so I made the focus to be around practical application you could actually implement in your day to day life.
These teachings became videos, that were also entertaining and fun for me to share with you. I wanted it to not show the *perfect* life with Jesus but the real and raw moments of what following God actually looks like. I wanted to share with you how to truly implement your faith into your day to day life, and I canât believe speaking into this community is something I get to do this every day. This work has brought me more joy than Iâd imagine a job ever could, and itâs been a gift to be the big sis I never had.
As I looked for more ways to help others get closer to God, I started to see other questions that came up in the process. The stuff that happens when God does not move in the way weâd want Him to, in the timeline we would like for Him to. It became apparent that to follow God, we had to give up our lives to Him, and in that surrender often came disappointment, a need for control, and a wondering if we are truly following Godâs path for our lives. I started asking myself and others questions about waiting on Godâs timing, trusting God, surrendering to His plan, and hearing His voice in the midst of disappointment. The questions weâre all asking, but struggling to find answers to.

Iâve spent a long time talking and sharing about how to grow closer to God and become who Heâs called us to be, and itâs time to talk about how to surrender to Him and trust in His perfect timing. And to believe that what He has planned for us is better than anything weâd have planned for ourselves.
As I looked for more ways to help others get closer to God, I started to see other questions that came up in the process.
