The winter months are here, and this counts for many things. Some of these include pearly white snow, hot chocolate, and comfy coats. But it also makes means for a reality we all have to face.
We all get pale.
Pasty. White faced. Washed out. Not the beautiful porcelain skin kind of look. But the pale there-is-no-life-left kind of look.
I, for one, get as pale as can be. I look back on pictures of me when I was younger and in some I looked white as a ghost. Yikes.
By the time I hit middle school, I tried to use dark foundation and bronzer to mask the whiteness. But this only made my pale skin more noticeable, because the foundation line from my face to my neck was hard to miss. It was obvious that I needed something else, something that would fix this.
And then, on a beautiful day that I can’t seem to remember, self tanner came into my life.
My journey with self tanner goes way, way back, and it can be explained by this: trial and error. I am convinced I have tried all of the self tanner’s in the book. No matter how much I exfoliated, somehow I would still look like an oompa-loompa. Until one day, when my mom came home to introduce me to the self tanner of my dreams.
This saving grace is called VersaSpa: Bronzing Mist.
Ever since I have started using this, I haven’t resorted to any other method. This self tanner doesn’t require you to risk getting skin cancer, either, which is a huge plus. You can look great and stay healthy.
What I love about this self tanner is that it gives you a tan that looks incredibly natural. I have even been asked if I have previously been on vacation while using this. And better yet, it is oderless! This is such a plus, because most self tanners are quite smelly. You can use this tanner on your face and body. I don’t use a mitt to even out the tan, because I find that the spray evens itself out quite nicely.
For directions on how to use this bronzing mist, I first recommend for you to shower and use exfoliator. Exfoliate thoroughly the areas you are planning on applying the self tanner. Next, towel off completely, and open up the cap of your self tanner. Hold the can 4-8 inches away from your skin and spray with a quick, continuous, sweeping motion. I recommend not going crazy at first in applying this, because less is more with this spray. Use sparingly around feet, ankles, knees and elbows. If you wish, now is the time to blend with an applicator mitt. After applying, wash your hands. Let the tan dry before dressing, and allow 4-8 hours to go by before getting wet. Then, you are all finished!
I normally apply this at night so I can wake up feeling like I am naturally tan (even though I know I am definitely not).
You can purchase this self-tanner on Versa Spa’s website or Amazon. The self tanner might seem expensive, but each can lasts a very long time, so this is personally worth the money to me (considering how pricey it can be for a tanning bed membership).
This self tanner is sure to boost your self confidence and leave you feeling like a bronzed goddess. Truth is, we don’t have to trash our skin to feel content during the winter months. Instead, you can tan the right way, and your skin will definitely thank you for it.
Happy tanning!
Xoxo,
Ash
