How To Look Cute For Class In The Spring

It is safe to say that college is a different world.

In high school, I loved to wear dresses. I don’t know about you, but I found them very easy to just throw on. It was like your whole outfit was complete, and it was effortless.

When I got to college, I thought everything would roll the same way. However, as days passed on, getting busier and busier, it was harder to pick out cute dresses for the day.

I noticed most people in college were wearing tee shirts and leggings to class. I love that idea, and if that is you, then by all means go for it. However, I have always loved to try to pull together cute outfits. I realized that in college, there is different style, but it is style one can most definitely work with.

I believe in dress well, test well. I perform my best when I feel like I look cute. I saw a quote once on Pinterest that “I’m nicer when I like my outfit.”

I find when we feel put together, we do better on tests, we pay more attention in class, we focus better in the library, we are more excited to see that cute boy in Spanish.

However, that feeling is always subjective. So if you feel your best in sweatpants, wear sweatpants girl. Work it. If you feel your best in heels every day, more power to you.

But as for me, I want to get this cute and casual college style to a tee.

Below are some outfits for Spring style inspiration, so you can wake up feeling your best every day for class.

1. Tee & Jeans

You really can’t go wrong with a cute tee and a pair of skinny jeans. I love it because it is super casual, but certainly doesn’t leave you feeling like a bum. The trendy birkenstocks are a nice addition as well, considering you will be comfortable whilst looking cute walking to class.

2. The Flannel Look

A flannel over a tank is a fun and flirty way to spice up a look. Again, jeans are a must for class. This is a bit of a disclaimer, but I always tend to feel uncomfortable in leggings because my tush gets itchy in the seats. Does anyone else feel this way? Maybe I am the only one.

3. Cardigan With A Braid

On a cold Spring day, a nice cardigan is a great addition to any outfit. Also, cardigans are an adorable way to feel comfortable. I also love the braid look, considering sometimes it is hard to do your hair in the morning. Pulling out natural hair or putting in dry shampoo and braiding bangs back can make you look like you put in more effort than you actually did.

4. Jean Jacket With Converse

A jean jacket is the perfect addition to any Spring day. I mean c’mon, this clothing item is a must for this cheery season. The converse are casual but also comfortable as well. Adding a dainty necklace is enough to feel ready to take on the busy day.

5. The Ball Cap & Booties Look

I can’t tell you how many times I see girls wear ball caps a day, but let me tell you it is a lot. I love this look. It is perfect for lazy days when you haven’t washed your hair and want to hide your greasy hair, or if you don’t want to put on much makeup in a rushed morning to get to class. The booties are a great way to dress the outfit up.

Overall, college can be hard. However, with a cute outfit to start off the day, the days can be easier to tackle.

If you don’t believe dress well test well, I dare you to try it.

I promise, you won’t regret it when you see that cute boy who sits next to you in class, when you do much better on a Calculus exam then you would falling asleep in sweats, or when you feel a little more open to socializing at the dining hall.

Don’t knock it until you try it!

Xoxo,

Ash

These are really good suggestions. I used to love wearing dresses too, but I find sometimes when I wear them I feel too dressed up for class. I am in my last semester of college and I have found that I just throw on a different pair of leggings and a tshirt everyday because I am getting so lazy. Great suggestions though

Thanks Margaret! 🙂 Lol I feel like by the time I am a senior I am definitely going to fall into the tshirt leggings look. Sometimes, it is simply hard not to! Xoxo

UM. EXCUSE ME?! Where were you when I was in college!?!?!?? I danced in college and went from rehearsal, to class, right back to rehearsal. I NEVER looked this cute in college! and I’m a little jealous! I actually have a request — can you do a feature of dressing up athletic wear so even though it looks like you just came from the gym (or dance rehearsal) you don’t LOOK like it?
While I’m a mom now (and in grad school), I’m going to take a lot of these outfit ideas and apply them into my life because college is just preparing you for motherhood. Know that for the future 😉 <3

Hi Justine! Of course I can. I have never thought that college could prepare me for motherhood, that is so dang insightful. It is crazy to think that even outfit planning can make us more mature. Lol. Love your blog by the way 🙂
